Christmas Carols and Swiss Chalet (Days 15, 16 and 17)

It is becoming increasingly difficult to stay true to the 30 day plan.   Over the weekend there were a number of Christmas related events that I attended.  Most notably is that my family hosted a Christmas carol sing-along for our friends and family.   It was a lot of fun to play and sing the carols and share in lots of Christmas goodies and snacks.  I mostly stuck to veggies and dip, but I did try the occasional cookie or other goodie!  It was a lot of fun and as the last week before Christmas approaches, I am hoping to get in one more good week of sticking to the plan.  I am planning another cleanse day this coming Wednesday.

I will still make use of the shakes and follow the plan as close as possible.  I plan to have a shake at least once a day during the Christmas and new-years week.  I remember in past years that I would often end up eating cookies, or chips or chocolates for breakfast but then I would feel lethargic, foggy and tired afterward.   This year I will replace that with a shake, and will still enjoy the occasional treat.  That way I should feel much better.

One other thing to note is that last night after my family went swimming, I took my family to Swiss Chalet  (it is my families favorite restaurant).  I had two shakes during the day and had followed the plan pretty closely. Swiss Chalet is fairly healthy anyway (I had a festive special) so I counted this as the 400-600 balanced meal.  It might have been a little more than 600 calories.   I also indulged in a single Lindt chocolate for dessert (it comes with 5).   I noticed that 1 hour later at home I had to lie down because fatigue hit me like a tonne of bricks.   I think that is because Isagenix is such a low glycemic balance of nutrition, I had a spike in blood sugar because of the chocolate, and got hit will the wall of fatigue (as an insulin response).   I think because I have gotten used to feeling so energetic, this had more of an impact on me than I have experienced before.  I think I just got used to having low energy levels most of my life.   I had to have a nap for about 30 minutes, and then I was back to normal.

The cold I had last week is gone now, and I feel great and have a so much more energy these days.  I have been sleeping much better than usual, and I fall asleep quickly.   So what I read about Isagenix, and what I have experienced by following the program appears to be working for me.
